One Human Race

Carlos Pena, 1st baseman of Tampa Bay Rays, was in his homeland, Dominican Rep. at the time of the earthquake in Haiti. Haiti and Dom. Rep. are not friendly nations but Carlos has donated $15,000. He said" This is a good time to show we are one race - human race". If everyone understood this then Multi-ethnic ministry in our churches would be a natural. Christ's death and resurrection is for the Human Race -all. How could it b e otherwise when there is ONE Creator God.

Below are some historical and projected population stats for the USA. [Also note the web site for many interesting facts.]

This rate of growth becomes more significant when recently our newspaper reported that Florida 9 grew by 114,091 to a total of 18.5 million July 2008 to July 200. The growth was an influx of 87,381 international immigrants and a natural increase of 58,169 as births outnumbered deaths for the year. It also reported that Florida like some other states is experiencing and outflow of residents.

To some this may scare you and maybe anger you that there are so many immigrants. But I hope when you consider the potential that God has moved them to our land so you can begin to pray for them, try to befriend them and offer them the Gospel. If they should receive Christ that makes them a brother or sister in Christ. Rejoice!

Also, since these people have connections to other lands, maybe lands where Americans could never, they could find a way to send or take the Gospel to their homeland since they know family and friends, the culture, the language and probably ways around the government controls.

It is really our opportunity to "Reach the World without Leaving Home." [See the figure to show how the population is increasing.]
